Campus worker justice campaign
Safe working conditions, a living wage, and the freedom to voice their opinions are some of the most basic rights we can guarantee the people that keep our University open, clean and well-functioning. Yet it is shameful how often these have been denied in the past. A fair and just workplace is not something unrealistic, but it is something that we are can all still work towards. The Student Coalition Against Labor Exploitation at USC has a long history of fighting—and winning!—with on-campus janitors, university housing staff, and the workers in the dining locations for over 15 years as they have sought to keep their workplaces fair and just.
We believe that workers are especially able to determine what the important issues of their workplace are. Students are also important stakeholders in this University and we can add our voices whenever fellow community-members struggle for justice. Ultimately these people are not just employees but also important members of the Trojan Family! So please come on by and see how the connections we build between workers and students can be a strong force for change.
Currently, our dining hall workers are facing frightening conditions in their workplaces, and USC is neglecting to address this issue appropriately. Join us in organizing in solidarity with our campus workers, and showing them that the student body supports our Trojan family!
